Naturally Healthy October
Join in with Naturally Healthy October and feel happier and healthier
We are pleased to announce that this year October 2020 is Naturally Healthy month.
Traditionally Naturally Healthy month happens in May. However, because of COVID-19 we had to postpone and this year we will be running the campaign throughout October.
Devon’s natural environment is amazing and offers a variety of ways for us all to be naturally healthy. Being Naturally Healthy is all about getting outdoors and enjoying our beautiful surroundings and feeling happier and healthier for it.
Naturally Healthy October is an ideal opportunity to make some time for yourself and head outside. There is clear evidence that connecting to nature can offer huge benefits to our physical health, mental health and wellbeing.
So get out and enjoy the (hopefully) late autumn sunshine and share what you are doing on social media using #naturallyhealthy and #DevonCAN, and tag us @Devon_LNP and @activedevon.
We believe that being active and getting outdoors to connect with nature is more important that ever. However, safety is paramount and it is crucial that everyone follows current government guidance when leaving home and accessing green spaces.
LNP partners will be sharing lots of fantastic naturally healthy activities, opportunities and events taking place throughout October. Find out what is happening on the Active Devon Activity Finder. You can also visit the Natural Devon opportunities page.
If you are organising an event or activity why not upload it to the Active Devon Activity Finder. This is a great way to promote your organisation and your activities and it is completely free. Find out more on the Active Devon Naturally Healthy webpage. Please remember to include ‘Naturally Healthy’ and other relevant key words like environment, wildlife and outdoors to your description to enable the key word search to find them, and please link your activities to the Naturally Healthy campaign.
‘It is not a pill or potion but consider connecting with nature as a prescription. One that works, costs nothing and has no side effects. It is so easy to do, just take that step outside to start with. The most important thing is you enjoy it. Think of it as an opportunity to invest a bit of time in looking after yourself, your family and this place we call home.” Dr James Szymankiewicz, North Devon GP and Chair of the Devon Local Nature Partnership.
